My father-in-law passed away suddenly last Saturday night. Wayne Conover was more of a father to me than my own. I am proud to say he taught me the value of curiosity, having passions, and most importantly, service. He was always the first to volunteer to help with a house repair, or if I didn’t know how something worked, needed a ride to the airport, or just really wanted some good sushi and good company. I can’t remember a single time I asked for help that he wasn’t there for Jewel or I, and I would bet that is true for most people that knew him. He always made other people the priority.

I will miss Wayne’s excited conversations about Tesla, space, Ancient Aliens, politics, Mars, cars, or anything really. I’ll miss his quiet pride in his family, and the way he always had a new and unique viewpoint on things. I want to remember Wayne Robert Conover in the way I live my life- by helping others, spending time with my family, and staying curious.
